Testing at Schools
The ATS Qualifying Exam is administered at over 300 public and private schools in the greater Sacramento area between January and March each year. ATS staff travel as far away as Grass Valley, Placerville, Yuba City, Stockton, and Fairfield to proctor the exam at schools.
Students who test at school sites receive their test scores in the mail approximately 3 weeks after taking the exam. There is a $15 processing fee to defray costs associated with preparing and mailing personalized score results to students.

Testing at Sacramento State
Students who are unable to test at their own school (or who miss the testing at their school) can take the ATS Qualifying Exam at California State University, Sacramento on a Saturday morning. These exams are generally scheduled for February and March.
Students who test at Sac State on a Saturday receive their test scores in the mail approximately 3 weeks after taking the exam. There is a $15 processing fee to defray costs associated with preparing and mailing personalized score results to students.
To pre-register for one of the Sac State exams, parents should call the ATS office at (916) 278-7032 or send an email to ats@csus.edu that indicates the date requested (available tests are listed on the Dates page), student's name, mailing address (including city and zip), current grade and current school. Confirmation materials will be sent to the student approximately 10 days prior to the test date.
Testing in the ATS Office
After testing has been completed at area schools, ATS may offer small group appointments in the ATS office during regular business hours.
There is a $40 processing fee to defray costs associated with preparing personalized score results for students.
Office testing is scheduled in late March to June. Test dates are listed on the Dates page when available. To pre-register for one of the ATS office tests listed on the Date page, parents should call the ATS office at (916) 278-7032 or send an email to ats@csus.edu that indicates the date requested, student's name, mailing address (including city and zip), current grade and current school. Confirmation materials will be sent to the student approximately 3-5 days prior to the test date.
If no dates for office testing are shown on the Dates page, contact the ATS office to inquire about the availability of individual testing.
